Page 2 of 4 ALEXANDRA HANINEC, alto, has been playing the piano since she was seven years old, and received her A.R.C.T. diploma in piano performance at the age of seventeen. She studied piano privately with Nancy Hou while pursuing sciences during her undergrad, and completed a Master of Science in the Department of Medical Biophysics at the University of Toronto. While at U of T, Alexandra had the pleasure of singing with the Hart House Chorus under Directors John Tuttle and Brad Ratzlaff. Alexandra is currently a secondary school science and vocal music teacher, and has had the opportunity to be the musical director of several choirs in both the elementary and secondary school setting. In addition to singing with Exultate, Alexandra is a member of the Celebrity Symphony Orchestra, led by Musical Director Andrzej Rozbicki.BRUCE KIRKPATRICK HILL, bass, was born in Victoria, B.C., and began a career in church music at the age of 15. He worked at both Christ Church Cathedral (Anglican) and St. Andrew’s Cathedral (Roman Catholic), and earned a Master’s degree in Musicology at the University of Victoria before moving to the University of Toronto for doctoral studies. For several years, he was director of music at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, Scarborough, and at the University of St. Michael’s College, University of Toronto. Since August 1997, he has been Organist and Director of Music at Christ Church Deer Park in mid-town Toronto. He is Co-Director of the Anglican Chorale of Ottawa, accompanist for Pax Christi Chorale, and rehearsal accompanist for the Tafelmusik Chamber Choir. LYNN JANES, soprano, holds an honours degree in Music Education from Western, and in 1998 was co-recipient of the Ontario Choral Federation's Leslie Bell Conducting Scholarship. Lynn worked with the Canadian Children's Opera Chorus organization for 13 years as a conductor and voice coach, and is currently a member of the Elora Festival Singers. She was a teacher for 18 years with the TDSB at Victoria Park S.S. and Earl Haig S.S. and is now teaching music and drama at Greenwood College School. Lynn was appointed the conductor of the Toronto Mendelssohn Youth Choir in June 2005 and this year has an exciting season planned with the TMC organization. Her life is busy and exciting but she still finds time to enjoy her marathon and half marathon training. Her daughter Alexandra and husband Ken are her two biggest fans and she loves them and appreciates their ongoing love and support. JANICE KERKKAMP, alto, flautist, MusBac, BEd, is a private music teacher, an alto section lead in the choirs of Saint Thomas's Church, a member of the professional choir at Holy Blossom Temple, and a member of Sine Nomine Ensemble for Medieval Music, in which she also plays Renaissance flute and recorder. This is Janice's 25th season in Exultate. TOM LESLIE, bass, started singing in choirs as an alternative to high school band and hasn't stopped since. At the University of Toronto, he was a Trinity College choral scholar and sang with John Tuttle in the Hart House Chorus. He first joined Exultate in 1992, and has also sung with Consort Caritatis, the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir, Pax Christi Chorale, and many Toronto church choirs. After several years as secretary, he was appointed president of Exultate's board in 2003. Tom is an independant technology consultant and program manager, primarily working in the banking industry. Alto BONNIE MCKENZIE’s weekly musical foray with Exultate is a most pleasant and necessary respite from her daily efforts as a communications project manager. Her choral "rehearsals" for Exultate have included seasons with the UWO Singers under Deral Johnson, Gerald Fagan Singers of London, and Hart House Chorus for her initial interlude with John Tuttle. She relishes such Exultate moments as the 2003 Indian River concert series and her moment of Canadiana infamy as a "Grand Hotel" barmaid. In addition to her Exultate experiences, Bonnie enjoys occasional ventures into the worlds of musical theatre and multi-denominational church choirs.
